Week 22 - No Debt New Car Savings
It is week 22 in this mission to save enough money to pay for a car in CASH. This week I was “off” from side gigs and therefore there isn’t a lot of movement in the No Debt New Car savings. It is minimal, but there is some to be added.
To understand the basics, check out my first week’s blog where I talk a lot about this entire breakdown by clicking here.
In week twenty-two, I was able to add the following:
Mileage Reimbursement: $ 27.84
New Car Savings: $8.82
Total Addition to the New Car Fund: $ 36.66
After twenty-two weeks, I should be able to save $25,000 in 24.9 months or 2.1 years. It’s not a big dent, but every DOLLAR counts. I also knew I wouldn’t get much done this week, so I made up for it in the weeks prior and will work this week to get the numbers back up.
Here is what the account stands at as of 05/27/2019:
Mileage Reimbursement: $2,555.86
New Car Savings: $1,489.29
Total in the New Car Fund: $4,045.15
Amount to Goal: $20,756.47
As you might know from my last post (week 21), I was in Miami for Week 22. I could have done a few side gigs while I was there, but I wanted to concentrate on the trip rather than working on making money. I knew this was going to happen so in Week 19/20, I started to up my game on the gig income so that I would offset my losses in Week 22. Back in Week 18, my goal was about $350 in gig income a week. Well, in Week 19, I did like $715.00 because I knew if I push hard, I’d more than make up the difference and I did. That didn’t stop me from doing $581 the following week and the week before doing $445. (To learn more about these numbers, check out the side hustle income reports). All of my savings for this NDNC is from side hustle income not my regular job income.
In Week 23, I expect that the amount I put towards the NDNC will be drastically different because Week 23 came with a holiday after I came back from Miami and that usually means pretty good side hustle money can be made and we come up against another weekend to push the earnings well above where they need to be. Let’s let week 23 come and go and I’ll report back then.
That’s it, see you next week.
