Week 24 - No Debt New Car Savings
It is week 24 in this mission to save enough money to pay for a car in CASH. This week I was “off” from side gigs and therefore there isn’t a lot of movement in the No Debt New Car savings. It is minimal, but there is some to be added.
To understand the basics, check out my first week’s blog where I talk a lot about this entire breakdown by clicking here.
In week twenty-four, I was able to add the following:
Mileage Reimbursement: $38.86
New Car Savings: $50.11
Total Addition to the New Car Fund: $88.97
After twenty-four weeks, I should be able to save $25,000 in 24.1 months or 2 years. What a terrible week compared to Week 23, but better than Week 22.
Here is what the account stands at as of 06/10/2019:
Mileage Reimbursement: $2,983.92
New Car Savings: $1,686.15
Total in the New Car Fund: $4,670.07
Amount to Goal: $20,329.93
When you teach an accelerated summer school, you just don’t realize all the work that you need to do and the compression of the week. By Friday of last week, I was WAY TOO BEHIND to take any time and do some side hustling and it shows. I really needed to spend the weekend on prepping for the following week. So basically, I was only able to do hours on Sunday because of it. Due to this, I was only able to pump up my account by $88.97. That’s okay, it’s not ideal, but it is what it is. I am going to go out on a limb and say that this is going to be how it goes until July. I just need to concentrate on my full-time job so that I can put my side hustle income towards this NDNC plan.
Remember, all of the money that goes into the NDNC savings is from side hustle jobs. See my posts about side hustle income here.
In Week 25, I can’t promise it will get anybody because I already feel a bit behind, but that’s the game and we just have to deal with it in the end.
That’s it, see you next week.
