Week 31 - No Debt New Car Savings

Week 31 and even though I couldn’t side hustle on Friday and Saturday, the big numbers are starting to return…sort of.

To understand the basics, check out my first week’s blog where I talk a lot about this entire breakdown by clicking here.

In week 31, I was able to add the following:

Mileage Reimbursement:                                                $159.50

New Car Savings:                                                               $64.19

Total Addition to the New Car Fund:                          $223.69

After 31 weeks, I should be able to save $25,000 in 22.8 months or 1.9 years. The average of the last 10 weeks was $170.82. We are seeing an increase in the overall amount I am saving here primarily because time has opened up and now I can dedicate 20 - 30 hours to side hustling whereas during the normal school year it might be half that.

Here is what the account stands at as of 07/28/2019:

Total in the New Car Fund:                                           $5,967.42

Amount to Goal:                                                                $19,032.58

I know I’ve only been in the $5,000 range for only 5 weeks, but it seems like FOREVER. If I knew I was only $33 away from $6,000, I might have tried to work a little hard and little bit more to achieve it. We are about less than 1 month before I head back to work, but I’ll be off line for a week and a half in the middle of it, so I am kind of hustling to try to get as much in as I possibly can.

I still can’t devote a full-time’s work to side hustling because I am still working on administrative items from my real job. I also am working on curriculum things now so that it is easier in the fall when we start back up so it’s a catch 22. I could just say screw it, I’m going full blown side hustling, but I know that in the long term that won’t help me.

This week I am going to try to blow this week’s number out of the water (blowing this week’s number literally means $1 more than before). I will have a little bit more time to hustle than I have in the past week, so we will see what actually happens in the end.

Remember, all of the money that goes into the NDNC savings is from side hustle jobs. See my posts about side hustle income here.

That’s it, see you next week.
